Challenges
Turnkey’s use of rapid development tools resulted in a product where field id’s are frequently changing, making field recognition quite complex, and most tools produce scripts which require a high level of maintenance.
Solution
Sahi Pro’s ability to address fields in relation to other fields (rightOf, leftOf, under etc.) enabled us to build reliable scripts not dependent on the id’s and with very low maintenance requirements. This combined with the use of the Asset Repository file to store our field recognition details has also provided us with the ability to handle multiple languages without modifying the scripts.
The scenario files (part of the business-driven test automation) have provided us with an excellent mechanism to document the tests we are running and ensure all our testing is parameter driven. This has not only given us better documented results, but it has also given us more flexible and reusable functions reducing the amount of work required when producing new tests.
Sahi’s easy integration with other tools has enabled us to add testing into our build process, ensuring every build is automatically tested as part of the build process. By combining this with Sahi’s email integration, we can automatically email the results of this testing to all necessary personnel.
